Nothing helps our faith more than to know that what we seek for from the Lord has been provided.
The Apostle Paul said to the Corinthian Church “All things are yours”, 1 Cor. 3:22b, does this include healing? I believe it does.
Do we have a ‘right’ to expect healing?
Do we have a right to expect salvation from sin and eternal life? Do we have a right to expect deliverance from the power of the devil? To all these I say, yes we do.
The love of God has given us a reason and a right to expect all of these things based on the provision of God and our faith in the integrity of Him that has given us a love right to all of His goodness.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”. John 3:16
Jesus is the love gift of God to the whole world and not to the Church only, what does this mean? Well everything that God made available in Jesus is through Him freely given to all the world, this would include healing, because we read that Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. (Acts 10:38), God has not withdrawn His love gift, we have a right to healing because God has given us healing in the person of Jesus and we can expect to receive it if we fulfill the faith condition so prescribed.
Can you see now why Jesus did not turn back any of the people who came to Him for healing, irrespective of where they were coming from? Can you also see why you can expect healing from Jesus if you come to Him today?
Some body said “well; pastor I think that scripture is talking about eternal life or salvation from sin, eternal life is the life of God, it is the manifest quality of His presence in you, healing is eternal life at work in your body, destroying the evil and negative effects of disease and demonic power.
Divine healing is a spiritual quality, it flows from the Spirit of God through our human spirit to our bodies, it is not medical or natural healing.
You are qualified to receive
During the ministry of Jesus, there came a time when some ‘righteous’ and ‘holy’ people felt uncomfortable with Jesus’s relationship with people they called ‘sinners’ so they criticized Him and murmured at Him, but Jesus had a word for them, a word which many will do well to pay attention to today.
“But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them’ they that be whole need not a physician but they that are sick….. Matthew 9:12
What was He saying? He was saying, I am around these people because they need me, their sin is the reason why I am here and conversely we can also say, their sickness is the reason why I am here’.
The presence of sin and sickness is justification for the ministry of Jesus to you, thank God He did not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners.
The tragedy for many people is that they try to make themselves okay before they come to Jesus but no! Jesus says
“Come unto me all of you that labour and are burdened with sin, sickness, fear and pain and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:27
Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, He bore our iniquities and by His stripes we have been healed – Is. 53:4-5.
If this is true, then we should come boldly and confidently, full of faith and thanksgiving in our hearts to receive healing that we need.
We need to hear this over and over again, we have a right to healing, and Jesus has made that right available. When He was in the flesh people came to Him and exercised that ‘right’ through faith, in dying and rising from the dead Jesus reaffirmed that right eternally for all who will believe.
Will you believe?
