What is this mandate for which Jesus had been granted his apostolic authority?

The authority that Jesus exercised was given to him for a purpose, he was anointed with the Holy Spirit for a purpose, this purpose is his apostolic mandate, the Church shares in the same apostolic mandate that Jesus was given for she is his body.

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually

1 Cor 12:27 NKJV

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand

Isa 53:10 NKJV

The Church is his seed, the prolonging of his days, and through the Church the pleasure of the Lord prospers in the hands, the pleasure of the Lord is the apostolic mandate that Jesus was commissioned to execute.

Jesus himself reveals his apostolic mandate

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Luke 4:18-19 NKJV

This is why Jesus was anointed and this is the apostolic mandate upon the Church, all that the Church does today must be located within the parameters of this mandate, this is a mandate of recovery and restoration, through Jesus Christ God set in motion the mechanism for the restoration and recovery of the world that was lost in Eden.
Every member of the body of Christ has a part in this mandate, we are agents of recovery and restoration, the reason why Jesus set Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers in the Church was to equip the body of Christ to participate in this program of restoration, this apostolic mandate upon the Lord Jesus Christ, in God’s mind there are to be no spectators in this mission.

Jesus himself said

I and the Children which the Lord has give me are for signs and wonders

And again

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

John 14:12-14NKJV

No exceptions, no excuses, this is where the current Church model has failed, we have raised up a super star spectator Christianity, where the majority of people are seekers and spectators to be ministered to by celebrity ministers, this is not the bible pattern. It seems to me that God through this apostolic restoration is recalibrating the paradigms of the Church to enable her fulfill her mandate of recovery and restoration.

Some years ago, the Lord spoke to me saying ‘Moses my servant is dead, now Joshua arise’ I wondered what this meant for a long time until I decided to go back to study the lives and ministries of these two ministers of God.

I saw that Moses and Joshua represented two types of ministries and two types of mindsets, Moses represented a ministry of deliverance, of salvation as typified by his work in bringing the people of Israel out from the land of their captivity, this is akin to the message of salvation that we have preached for so many years and which is still being preached today, but you will notice that it was God’s original intention to bring His people out of Egypt and into a land flowing with Milk and Honey, a place of promise, divine government and establishment.
It was Joshua who did that, that is brought the people into that place of divine government; it required a different spirit and mindset, a conquering mindset.

I believe that these two ministries are two different aspects of the work of Christ, in one He is the savior and in the other he is the establisher of divine government or the kingdom of God. The Lord is signifying by His Spirit that the Church must rediscover a new paradigm, the paradigm of the kingdom. It is in this place that the Church is able to fulfill her role as the prolonging of the days of Jesus and the continuation of His apostolic mandate.

A Church that only knows the salvation of the Lord cannot be effective in establishing his apostolic authority or mandate, and this brings me to the second aspect of the apostolic mandate of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel of the kingdom

Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; but He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”

Luke 4:42-44 NKJV

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him — from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

Matt 4:23-25 NKJV

The apostolic mandate upon the Lord and by extension upon the Church was firstly to destroy the works of the enemy and secondly to establish the dominion of the Kingdom of God. Jesus said I must preach the kingdom of God, because for this purpose I have been sent.

What was lost in the garden of Eden? Man’s freedom and the knowledge and dominion of the Kingdom of God, Jesus came to recover both. The apostolic Church understood this and followed the same pattern.
But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, 10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.” And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.  But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Acts 8:9-12NKJV

“And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

Acts 20:25-26 NKJV

Up until this time the Moses ministry has been the predominant mindset in the Church, by saying to me Moses my servant is dead now Joshua arise, I believe the Lord was signifying that the time had come for a significant paradigm shift and the enthronement of the ministry of Joshua that was designed to lead people into her place of dominion and establishment and the major instrument through which this would take place was by the proclamation of the kingdom of God in its power and fullness.

The Church as a mandate from heaven to bring deliverance to the captives AND to enthrone the kingdom or dominion of God on the earth.

Did Jesus not teach us to pray, thy kingdom come? The days are come for the fulfillment of that prayer.
The kingdom of God is more than talking about the ‘kingdom’ I have seen and heard people say, ‘I am a kingdom person’, but their words, thoughts, motives and lives show that they understand little or nothing about the life of the kingdom.

The Kingdom of God is a way of life, Jesus taught about and exemplified that life and this is the life of apostolic people.

In order to fulfill the apostolic mandate upon our lives as members of the body of Christ we must rediscover this two aspects of the ministry of Christ.

The gospel of His salvation and the gospel of His Kingdom, this is our mandate/.
